Every once in a while, a rifle comes across the bench that feels less like an assembly of parts and more like a purpose-built instrument. The CF 02-2 is exactly that—a precision-built .223 Remington designed for shooters who demand repeatability, refinement, and uncompromising performance.

At the heart of this build is the legendary BAT Machine Hammer Head action. Renowned in the precision rifle world for its exceptional rigidity, smooth cycling, and rock-solid consistency, the dual-lug 75° bolt throw design provides the foundation serious accuracy requires. This action was selected for one reason: absolute confidence behind the trigger.

Mated to the action is a 26-inch heavy contour barrel from Krieger Barrels chambered in .223 Remington with a fast 1:8 twist rate. This configuration allows the rifle to stabilize a broad spectrum of bullet weights—from lightweight varmint projectiles to heavy match bullets capable of stretching the cartridge well beyond typical expectations. Enhancing the system further is ACE (Accurize Chamber Enhancement) work performed by Wolf Precision, delivering tighter tolerances and elevated consistency shot after shot.

The barrel is threaded 5/8×24 and fitted with an EC Tuner muzzle brake, allowing the shooter to fine-tune barrel harmonics and recoil impulse for maximum precision.

The trigger system is equally refined. A TriggerTech Diamond trigger adjustable from 4 to 32 ounces provides an exceptionally crisp, clean break with virtually zero creep. Whether shooting from the bench, prone in competition, or engaging targets in the field, the trigger delivers the consistency and control precision shooters expect.

The entire system is housed in an MDT Sporting Goods XRS chassis finished in Flat Dark Earth. Combining the ergonomics of a traditional stock with the modular advantages of a modern chassis system, the XRS offers outstanding shooter comfort and adaptability. This rifle is equipped with the enclosed forend and additional XRS forend weight, creating exceptional balance and stability for prone shooting, barricade work, or long days on the range.

Topping the package is an Arken Optics EP-5 5-25×56 optic featuring a 34mm tube, first focal plane design, illuminated VHR MIL reticle, and the clarity needed to maximize the rifle’s long-range capability.
